To support reconstruction efforts after the earthquake in Haiti; middle School student, Nadine Delano, will be hosting Kids Helping Kids,a yard-sale and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at William Byrd Community House (WBCH). The proceeds will go to the American Red Cross International Fund to help Haitian children.
Nadine, a resident of Oregon Hill, felt strongly about the earthquake and its aftermath. “I was disturbed by the pictures about the earthquake and felt that I should do something.” With the help of friends and WBCH librarian, Patty Parks, Nadine found a place and the resources to help other children. Nadine will be working with children at WBCH to collect gently used clothing, toys, games and books for the Kids Helping Kids Yard-Sale. To support Nadine’s and the children’s efforts please bring gently used clothing, toys and games to William Byrd Community House by Wednesday, February 24th for the Kids Helping Kids Yard-Sale. For further information about what to donate or other questions email doffice@wbch.org
Kids helping Kids is an important piece in developing a better world for us all. At WBCH we encourage everyone to participate in giving back to our communities in need; Haiti is part of our world community in need.
